Topics include the obligations of researchers (and of political scientists in particular) to society, the line between advocacy and objectivity in political science, conflicts of interest, intellectual property, plagiarism, research misconduct, data management, authorship, peer review, human subjects and fieldwork, institutional review boards, mentoring, intellectual integrity, collaboration, mentoring, fostering inclusive research environments, and boundaries in professional relationships.  The course is required of all first-year Politics graduate students.
